Overview

W. A. Mozart: Requiem – Utopia 25 Years is a concert at the German Church in Helsinki on 24 October 2026, 17:00. It marks the 25th anniversary of Utopia and is a one-night-only event. The programme is a rare arrangement of Mozart's Requiem, created in the early nineteenth century for the cathedral of Évora in Portugal. It is scored for a small ensemble of soloists, choir, organ and instrumentalists, and this version will be heard in Finland for the first time. Utopia Chamber Choir performs together with a group of musicians. The soloists are Titta Lampela, soprano, Iris Oja, alto, Charles Barbier, tenor, and Jussi Lehtipuu, bass. Early music specialist Andrew Lawrence-King plays the organ. The ensemble also includes bassoonists Otto Virtanen and Jaakko Luoma, cellist Heidi Peltoniemi and double bassist Eero Marttila. Tickets cost 35 € or 30 €.
