Les secrets de l'Alhambra nasride at L'Institut du Monde Arabe

Les secrets de l'Alhambra nasride is an exhibition at L'Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris, running from Tuesday 24 November 2026 to Sunday 16 May 2027. It shows the Alhambra as the Nasrid sultans built it, which is quite different from the fortress seen today.

The exhibition focuses on the palace at the height of its splendour under Sultan Muhammad V and presents certain of its secrets through an immersive walk dotted with works of art. Themes include the Fountain of the Lions, the poetry of water, the geometric complexity of the decoration, the epigraphy that gives the palace a voice, sultanate festivities, the gardens, and cultural exchanges despite constant military tensions.
