Colossal Squid at Vespers, London, 25 February 2027

Colossal Squid plays Vespers in London on 25 February 2027, 19:30, in a show presented by Baba Yaga's Hut. Colossal Squid is the solo project of drummer/producer Adam Betts, started in 2017. Betts has played with Squarepusher's Shobaleader One, Goldie, Pulp, David Gilmour and Three Trapped Tigers.

The project explores what live electronica means, setting warmth and sweat-soaked chaos against the mechanical precision of electronica. Betts' drumming draws on breakcore and punk-infused jungle, and the compositions lean into that style. Recent sets have been played at festivals including End Of The Road, ArcTangent, Smugglers, Wanderfal, Wrong Speed weekender, Positive Futures and Strange Forms.

The album Closing Memory is due out in February 2027 on Wrong Speed records. Tickets start from GBP 18.50.
