Tamzene at Bush Hall, London, 15 April 2027

Cut Me Out Your Photos is a heartbreak song, while New Beginnings is a self-care anthem written on a sunny day in East London. Tamzene's story starts in Cromarty, a small town in the Scottish Highlands, about 600 miles north of London, where the 24-year-old musician spent the formative years of her life. She began busking in Inverness with her mum's guitar after needing to raise money for a college service project in Thailand.

Her influences include the Scottish folk music of the Highlands, reggae introduced by her half-Jamaican mother and soul compilations made by her stepfather. After honing her skills at university, she started booking gigs, including festivals such as Latitude, TRNSMT, Eurosonic Noorderslag and Reeperbahn, and a one-off show in New York.
