Stephen Purcell and Rachel Tan founded it; they were two neighbours who cycled past each other daily but made music only apart. The band has grown into a creative partnership with Liam Brady on drums, Risa Hanamoto on synths and Michael O'Sullivan on bass. Its sound fuses acid-soaked electronica with technicolour psyche-pop.

TELEKURA have received support on BBC Radio 6 Music and have been covered by the Irish and UK press. They have supported Nation Of Language, Night Tapes and Burglar, and have played sets at Forbidden Fruit festival and Ireland Music Week. They will also appear at Left Of The Dial and Pro Weekend Fest.
