Unkle Sounds + DJ Food at Chalk, Brighton

James Lavelle has spent 30 years working in club culture. Under his UNKLE project he has released albums and worked with collaborators including Mike D, Thom Yorke, Michael Kiwanuka, Mark Lanegan, Massive Attack, Brian Eno and Josh Homme. With 'UNKLE Sounds', Lavelle plays deep cuts and club classics from across the UNKLE-sphere, a project he has taken to festivals and clubs from Tokyo to Mexico City.

DJ FOOD joins UNKLE Sounds for this event. DJ FOOD was founded in 1990 on the Ninja Tune record label as raw "food" (loops, breaks, and samples) for DJs to mix, and expanded into drawing from experimental techno, downtempo, acid jazz and more, releasing six albums. 'UNKLE Sounds + DJ Food' takes place in Brighton at Chalk on Saturday 24th October 2026.

Entry is from 10:30pm and the curfew is 2:00am. The event is the official after-party for Mutations Festival. Stand-alone tickets for UNKLE Sounds at Chalk do not allow entry to other Mutations Festivals shows and stages, while entry to UNKLE Sounds is included with Weekend and Saturday Day festival tickets.
