NSOI: Britten’s War Requiem is a choral concert at the National Concert Hall in Dublin on 27 November 2026, starting at 19:30 on the Main Stage. It is a tribute to Benjamin Britten in the 50th anniversary year of his death. National Symphony Orchestra Ireland performs with National Symphony Chorus Ireland, Choristers of St. Patrick’s Cathedral and RTÉ Concert Orchestra.

The soloists are soprano Ailish Tynan, tenor Laurence Kilsby and baritone Joshua Hopkins, and Anja Bihlmaier conducts. Britten wrote the War Requiem to mark the re-opening of Coventry Cathedral in 1962, after the destruction of the Second World War.

The work combines the Latin Mass with poems on the horrors of war by the British soldier and poet Wilfred Owen. Tickets cost €15, €27.50, €35, €42.50 or €49.
