Narodowy Balet Gruzji Sukhishvili in Katowice, 20 February 2027

It was founded in 1945 by Iliko and Nino Sukhishvili, and the third generation of the family, the grandchildren of the founders, now leads it. The concert programme features virtuoso male dances with acrobatics, jumps and spinning sabres, alongside female parts. The ensemble's signature is a male dance on tiptoe.

Costumes are made of natural fabrics decorated with silk embroidery, stones and metal elements. A live orchestra plays rare folk instruments and uses ancient performance techniques. The company has performed in more than one hundred countries on five continents, including at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
