Sărbătorile Iașului 2026: 8-16 October, Sfânta Parascheva feast day on 14 October

The city hall's newsletter describes them as the XXXV-a edition, dedicated to the Hramul Sfintei Cuvioase Parascheva and to Sfântul Cuvios Paisie.

The pilgrimage opens on Thursday 8 October at 6.00 with the reading of the Acatistul Sfintei Cuvioase Parascheva. On Sunday 11 October the Calea Sfinților procession follows the central route; the Catedrala Mitropolitană programme lists it from 19.00 to 20.30, with the relics of Sfânta Cuvioasă Parascheva and of Sfântul Cuvios Paisie de la Sihăstria.

On 12 and 13 October the programme continues with daily services at the cathedral. On Monday, Miezonoptica and the Liturghia run 07.00-11.00, the Paraclisul Sfintei Cuvioase Parascheva follows at 16.00-16.30, and an evening vigil dedicated to Sfântul Apostol Andrei runs 19.00-23.00. On Tuesday the morning and afternoon schedule is the same, and the vigil of Sfânta Cuvioasă Parascheva begins at 21.00 and lasts until 03.00, ending with the Sfânta Liturghie.

The feast day itself is Wednesday 14 October. The Sfânta Liturghie starts at 9.00 on a podium at the edge of the Pietonalul Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt, next to the altar of the Catedrala Mitropolitană, and large screens in several locations allow people farther away to follow it. The city hall lists the Liturghia on the Pietonalul Ștefan cel Mare, followed by the Masa Pelerinilor, where DAS Iași provides sarmale and hot tea. Seara Valorilor is also listed for 14 October.
