Stockholm Jazz Festival

Since its founding in 1980 as the Stockholm Jazz and Blues Festival, this annual Stockholm event has become a staple of the city's autumn. For many years its main stage stood on the island of Skeppsholmen, with the harbor serving as the festival's visual hallmark. Today the programme spans ten days and centers on world music and improvisational jazz.

The festival has a long tradition of mixing Swedish and international artists. Past lineups have included Monica Zetterlund, Nils Landgren, Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie, and B.B. King, while more recent editions have welcomed musicians from around the world. Performances take place in venues ranging from small clubs to grand concert halls.
