Acerca de Bee Blackwell
Her debut EP, Calico (2023), included the track "Blue," which helped build her early online following, and established a blend of 1990s alternative rock with confessional, diaristic lyrics. She followed it with the standalone singles "Dumb," "The Same," and "Signs" in 2024, then released the EP Nine Lives in 2025, featuring the songs "Claws," "Lalala," "Cowboy," and "More." Her sound pairs fuzzed-out, atmospheric guitar work with clear, powerful vocals.
Nine Lives was Blackwell's first self-produced project, recorded at Sonic Ranch studio, marking a shift toward greater creative control after two years of independent releases and viral online covers. Her songwriting centers on vulnerability, estrangement, and coming-of-age themes, pairing melodic hooks with earnest, lived-in lyricism.
Blackwell made her South by Southwest debut in March 2025 and has continued performing shows across Texas while building a growing national fanbase online. Music outlets covering emerging rock acts have named her a developing artist to watch, with additional original material expected to follow the release of Nine Lives.
