Katherine Jenkins
Katherine Jenkins OBE, born June 29, 1980, in Neath, Wales, is a Welsh mezzo-soprano who performs operatic arias, popular songs, musical theatre and hymns. She won youth singing competitions as a child, was a member of the National Youth Choir of Wales, and at 17 earned a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music, where she graduated with honours and a music teacher's diploma.

Acerca de Katherine Jenkins
Jenkins came to wide public attention in 2003 when she sang at Westminster Cathedral to mark Pope John Paul II's silver jubilee, after which Universal Classics and Jazz signed her to a major recording contract. Her 2004 debut album, Première, made her the fastest-selling mezzo-soprano on record, and six of her first seven studio albums reached number one on the UK classical chart between 2004 and 2008, with combined sales exceeding four million copies.
She won the Classical BRIT Award for Album of the Year in consecutive years, 2005 and 2006, and Classic FM named her the best-selling classical albums artist of the 21st century in 2020. She has performed at major public events including Live 8 in 2005, the 2008 FA Cup Final, and Royal Variety Performances, and has sung for British armed forces personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Jenkins was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2014 for services to music and charity. She remains an active recording and touring artist, and has also appeared on television programmes including The Masked Singer.
