The Stylistics at Royal and Derngate, Northampton

The Stylistics play Royal and Derngate in Northampton on 18 November 2026, 19:00. They are an American Philadelphia soul group that had their greatest chart success in the 1970s. They formed in 1968.

Their U.S. hits were ballads shaped by the falsetto of Russell Thompkins Jr. and the production of Thom Bell. In the early 1970s the group had twelve consecutive R&B top ten hits, including "Stop, Look, Listen", "You Are Everything" and "Betcha by Golly, Wow".

"You Make Me Feel Brand New" held at No. 2 in the U.S. for two weeks in 1974. As their U.S.

success waned, their popularity in Europe and especially the United Kingdom increased, and "Can't Give You Anything (But My Love)" reached number 1 in the U.K. in 1975.
