China Crisis
China Crisis is an English new wave and synth-pop band formed in 1979 in Kirkby, near Liverpool. Its core members are vocalist and keyboardist Gary Daly and guitarist and vocalist Eddie Lundon, both born in 1962, who met at St Kevin's School for Boys. The band started out as a politically charged post-punk act influenced by Brian Eno's ambient soundscapes before moving toward a more commercial pop sound.

À propos de China Crisis
China Crisis scored ten top-50 UK singles and three UK top-ten albums during the 1980s. Working with Fire and Steel (1983) and Flaunt the Imperfection (1985), the latter reaching number 9 in the UK, both achieved gold certification. Their best-known song, "Wishful Thinking," reached number 9 on the UK Singles Chart in early 1984, alongside other hits including "Christian," "Black Man Ray," and "King in a Catholic Style." Steely Dan's Walter Becker produced several of the band's records during this period.
The band continued recording into the late 1980s with What Price Paradise (1986) and Diary of a Hollow Horse (1989), maintaining a loyal following even as chart success cooled. Daly and Lundon have kept China Crisis active in various forms in the decades since, including the 2015 studio album Autumn in the Neighbourhood.
Live shows draw on the band's catalogue of shimmering, melodic new wave singles from the 1980s, with Daly and Lundon still fronting the band's performances today.
