Michael Kosta
Michael Kosta is an American stand-up comedian and former professional tennis player, born September 27, 1979, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He played college tennis at the University of Illinois, competing on four Big Ten Championship teams, before turning professional in 2002 and reaching a world ranking of 864 in singles on the ITF and ATP tours.

After retiring from tennis in 2004 and briefly serving as assistant men's tennis coach at the University of Michigan, Kosta began performing stand-up comedy in Los Angeles starting in 2005. He went on to appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with Seth Meyers, and released the Comedy Central special Michael Kosta: Detroit. NY. LA. in 2020.
Kosta joined The Daily Show as a correspondent in 2017 and became a rotating host and senior correspondent, winning an Emmy Award for his work on the program; he was the most-watched guest host of 2023 and has continued as a rotating co-host since 2024. He has also hosted Crowd Goes Wild on Fox Sports 1 and The Comment Section on E!.
He currently hosts the podcast Tennis Anyone and, in 2025, published a memoir titled Lucky Loser: Adventures in Tennis and Comedy, drawing on his dual careers in professional sport and comedy.
