Alice Cooper
Alice Cooper, born Vincent Damon Furnier on February 4, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, is an American singer and songwriter widely credited with pioneering shock rock. He adopted the name for a band he formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in the mid-1960s, which evolved through several lineups before settling as Alice Cooper in 1968; he legally took the name himself in 1975 when he began a solo career. The original band's classic lineup included Glen Buxton, Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, and Neal Smith, who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame together in 2011.

O Alice Cooper
His breakthrough albums, including Love It to Death (1971), School's Out (1972), and Billion Dollar Babies (1973), established a sound that mixed hard rock with glam and theatrical horror. Singles such as "I'm Eighteen," "School's Out," "Only Women Bleed," and "Poison" became staples of rock radio across five decades. He has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and multiple Kerrang! and Mojo awards for his contributions to rock music.
Cooper's live shows built his reputation as much as his songwriting did, incorporating elaborate props, staged executions, guillotines, and other theatrical effects that turned concerts into horror-tinged productions. That template, developed through the 1970s, influenced generations of hard rock and metal performers who followed.
He has continued to record and tour into his late seventies, releasing new studio material and maintaining an active live schedule alongside his enduring catalog.
