Alte Liebe. Von Elke Heidenreich, Stalburg Theater Frankfurt

Alte Liebe. Von Elke Heidenreich is a theatre play at the Stalburg Theater in Frankfurt on Friday, 20 November 2026, at 20:00. Tickets start at 29.00 euros, and a discount is available.

The cast features Katja Hufgard and Detlev Nyga, and Rainer Ewerrien directs. The play follows Lore and Harry, who have been married for more than 30 years. Lore is busy in the literary world, while Harry, a retired Baurat, enjoys the occasional Weizenbier and tends the delphiniums in his garden.

Lore fears he will do nothing else for the rest of his life. Then their daughter Gloria marries for the third time, and the two find themselves pulling together again. Elke Heidenreich wrote the novel Alte Liebe together with Bernd Schroeder, to whom she was married for a good while.

She then developed the novel into a stage play, which is performed in Frankfurt for the first time. The Stalburg Theater was founded in 1998 and focuses on theatre performances. It sits in the Nordend district of Frankfurt, in a former dance hall.
