Der Videobeweis - von Sébastien Thiéry in Monschau

The play follows Justine and Jean-Marc, married for many years, who receive a mysterious email with a video showing their argument in their own kitchen. After they remove the camera, more recordings follow, revealing secrets, half-truths and lies from their married life, and both panic. They try to play down or justify their secrets, while the question remains who installed the camera and since when and why they are being watched at all.

Seeing themselves act confronts them with their own hiding game, puts their marriage to the test and leads into a kind of self-therapy for the couple. The comedy traces the rapid loss of trust among people in media-driven times and asks how much transparency and ruthless openness a relationship can bear, and whether some things should better stay secret so that trust in one another is not lost.
