The piece is a crime comedy by John Buchan and Alfred Hitchcock. For Richard Hannay, an unexpected evening guest, a mysterious warning and a death that comes far too suddenly begin an adventure. At the centre of the riddles stands a mysterious organisation: Die 39 Stufen.

In 2003 the Berliner Kriminal Theater moved into the building complex of the Umspannwerk Ost in Berlin Friedrichshain, where the ensemble still performs today. The fixed-seat hall plan is not accessible; help with booking is available by calling the ticket hotline on 069 427262 680.
