Membering at Sophiensæle, Berlin, 14 November 2026

Membering is a participatory performance by Dragana Bulut, presented at Sophiensæle (Festsaal), Sophienstraße 18, 10178 Berlin, on Saturday 14 November 2026 at 20:30. Tickets start at 25,00 €, with a reduced rate available. The event is in English.

The piece brings the audience into a shared practice of repair. Attendees and performers come together around fragments, memories and inherited histories, working through acts of restoration, therapy and archiving. Starting from a personal family history of loss and war, Dragana Bulut examines social choreographies of grief and repair.

Choreography here traces how grief moves over time through bodies, generations and collective memory, and how events we did not live through can still become part of what we carry. Membering is not a performance about getting past grief; it is an invitation to ask how it might be carried together. Artistic direction, choreography and performance are by Dragana Bulut, with performance by Cécile Bally.

Lighting design is by Gustav Kleinschmidt, sound design by Jean P'arc, dramaturgy by Andrew Hardwidge, camera by Joanna Piechotta and editing by Dragana Jovanovic. Production management is by M.i.C.A.

The production is by Dragana Bulut in co-production with Sophiensæle, funded by the Capital Cultural Fund (HKF). Media partners are Missy Magazine, Siegessäule and taz.
