Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme at Le Point Virgule, Paris

Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme is a classical theatre production at Le Point Virgule in Paris, running from 28 October 2026 to 1 January 2027. The play is by Molière and is directed by Gilles Hoyer. Tickets start at EUR 22.

The story follows Madame and Monsieur Jourdain, a married bourgeois couple who work together as upholsterers and have a daughter, Lucille. Monsieur Jourdain spends freely to become a "gentilhomme" and takes lessons in music, dance, fencing and philosophy from so-called masters. He then sets his mind on being loved by a Marquise and on marrying his daughter to a nobleman.

Madame Jourdain decides to put an end to this folly. With help from others, she steers him back to reason without his knowing, and uses a trick to make him believe he has reached his dreams.

The cast includes Olivia Chevalier or Johanna Mondon, Juliette Médard or Aurore Mazière, Maxence Marchand, Gilles Gangloff or Rémi Couturier, Luc Antoni and Gilles Hoyer. Children under 4 years old are not admitted to the hall.
