They have performed locally since 1995 and signed a record deal with Universal Music Group in March 2010. Essentially an a cappella group, their studio recordings and live shows now often include traditional simple instrumentation. Their repertoire covers shanties and other nautical songs.
Because the band is semi-professional, it does not tour extensively, but usually goes on short tours in November and February/March. In 2023 Simon Johnson and Marcus Bonfanti joined the live line-up.
