Romería at Pavilion Theatre, Dublin, 9 November 2026

Romería is a film screening at Pavilion Theatre in Dublin on 9 November 2026, with showings at 17:00 and 20:00 as part of Monday Night Cinema. The film is rated 15A. Tickets cost €10 or €9, plus a booking fee.

The title means "pilgrimage". It is the final film in Simón's semi-autobiographical trilogy, which also includes Summer 1993 and Alcarràs, and it explores belonging, family history and memory. Marina, aged 18, lost both her parents when she was very young.

She needs the signature of her paternal grandparents for a scholarship application, so she travels to Spain's Atlantic coast to meet the family she has never known, unsure whether she will be welcomed. As she meets members of her extended family, she unravels the real story of her parents. The film was a Palme d'Or nominee at the Cannes Film Festival 2025.
