Kiruna
Kiruna is Sweden's northernmost town, built around the LKAB iron ore mine whose tunnels run beneath the original townsite - ground deformation from mining is forcing the town centre to relocate a few kilometres east. It sits inside the Arctic Circle, with the Icehotel in nearby Jukkasjarvi and Abisko National Park within reach for aurora viewing.
