À propos de Underscores
Her debut album Fishmonger (2021) drew critical acclaim and was named among The Atlantic's best albums of that year. She followed it with the concept album Wallsocket (2023), which explores themes of American suburbia through a loosely narrative structure, and the 2026 album U, her third full-length release.
Grey opened for 100 Gecs on their 2021 tour and performed at Lollapalooza in 2022, and was later announced as an opening act on Charli XCX's 2026 tour. Her father, Ryan Downe, was an audio engineer who worked with Elton John's record label. Grey is a transgender woman, and critics have described her work as reflecting a generational disregard for conventional genre boundaries, moving fluidly between electronic production and guitar-driven songwriting.
