About The Enemy

The band's debut album, We'll Live and Die in These Towns (2007), entered the UK charts at number one and went on to sell around 222,000 copies that year, earning a platinum certification by early 2008; NME rated it 8 out of 10. Follow-up Music for the People (2008) reached number two in the UK, while Streets in the Sky (2012) and It's Automatic (2015) charted at nine and twenty-one respectively. Singles "Away from Here" and "Had Enough," both from the debut, reached numbers eight and four on the UK singles chart.

The Enemy built its reputation as a guitar-driven working-class rock band in the wake of the mid-2000s British indie revival, with tracks such as "Aggro" later appearing in the video game Guitar Hero World Tour. The band disbanded in 2016 after four studio albums but reunited in 2022, resuming live performances and festival appearances with its original lineup intact.

Since reforming, Clarke, Hopkins and Watts have continued to perform together and have completed work on a fifth studio album, extending a run in which the three founding members have never been replaced.
