daniel’s destruction is a performance at Sophiensæle (Kantine), Sophienstraße 18, 10178 Berlin, on Friday 20 November 2026 at 19:00. Tickets start at 25,00 €, with a reduction available. The event is staged by Unbestimmte Bewegung in co-production with Sophiensæle, with support from the Berliner Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt, the Bezirk Mitte and the Akademie der Künste.
The piece runs about 1 h 10 Min. It is performed in German with English surtitles and is not suitable for minors. Yannik Böhmer directs.
The text is by Nicolaas van Diepen, with version and dramaturgy by Elena Kaufmann. Nicolaas van Diepen, Shlomi Moto Wagner and Tim-Fabian Hoffmann perform. Music is by Erik Leuthäuser and Shlomi Moto Wagner.
The work addresses the actual death of a young man forced into sex work, the people close to him and the final weeks before he died of an overdose. It looks at a way of life between sex dates, intoxication and drug dealing from a vulnerable, self-critical inner perspective, and is a snapshot of social conditions and gay life experiences in Berlin today. It approaches a grieving process amid stigma and shame.
