The piece is about Pulcinella, a figure who grew out of Italian folk theatre. In German-speaking regions the figure finds its counterpart in Hanswurst of the fairground stages and travelling theatres, and in Kasper of the hand puppet theatre. The production asks who Pulcinella is, and what lies behind the mask he never takes off.
Direction is by Margarete Biereye and David Johnston. Stage design and lighting are by Daisy Watkiss, and mask making is by Joséphine Biereye. Tickets start at EUR 28.50, and a discount is available.
